Dr. Jan Bell is now in her eighth year as the faculty athletics representative. She has been teaching students as a professor in the sports administration program since 1985, which offers both graduate (MS and MBA) and undergraduate (BBA and BA) degrees. In addition to her professorial duties, she also serves as the Sports Administration Graduate Program Internship Coordinator and is chairperson for the department of management.

Dr. Bell has lived out her passion for sports, initially as a player, then professionally as a teacher, coach, and athletic director at North Caroline High School (Denton, Md). Her desire to teach at the college level led her to further study and to her current role at St. Thomas.

Dr. Bell has a B.S. in Physical Education from Salisbury State (MD), an M.S. in Education from the State University of New York in Brockport and an Ed.D. in Sports Administration from Temple University (Pa.).
