Coach Jeff Norman at the 2008 Tournament banquet.

Softball players named All-Conference

May 8, 2008

Savannah Ga. - The Florida Sun Conference (FSC) named their 2008 postseason honors at the 2008 NAIA Region XIV Tournament Banquet held at Savannah College of Art and Design's Red Gallery. Bobcats Koely Kempisty, Cindy Castrillon and Claritza Valle were named to the FSC All-Conference team. Bobcat Head Coach and Florida Sun Conference softball chair Jeff Norman made the opening remarks at the banquet.

Kempisty was consistent for the Bobcat throughout the season ranking in the top five in 17 of 18 hitting categories. She tied for the most doubles for the Bobcats with Jenny Sanchez and starts for the Bobcats with Gina Guffanti.

Castrillon was a late addition to the Bobcat team this season because of her role on the basketball team, but it was a welcomed addition. She led the team in homeruns with four, a .575 slugging percentage, and 25 runs batted in.

Valle had an aggressive senior season for the Bobcats as she led the team in stolen base attempts and stolen bases. Valle also had the best batting average this season for the Bobcats with .384 batting average.
