Diebler hit 2-4 with an RBI on Frday

Bobcats drop both games to Bees

April 11, 2008

Box Score

Miami Gardens, Fl. - The St. Thomas University softball team dropped 2 games to SCAD by the scores of 10-1 and 13-4. Kelley Diebler had a solid outing batting .500 with 1 RBI over two games. The top performer for the SCAD Bees was Kristy Curette who batted .833 with 7 RBI's for the whole day.

The first game was a quick one when the Bees took advantage of the Bobcats in almost every inning. With the exception of the fifth inning, the Bees scored at least 2 runs on the Bobcats in every inning while holding us to a single run. That run came from Diebler who stole home in the 2nd inning. The game ended on the mercy rule and SCAD's Meghan Temple earned the win.

The second game featured a few more runs for the Bobcats but the end result was unfortunately similar. The Bobcats stayed in it for most of the game with Diebler, Koely Kempisty, and Gina Guffanti all batting in runs. But the Bees pulled away by scoring 3 runs in the 4th inning and a whopping 6 runs in the 5th. Toni Matlock earned the win for SCAD.

With these two losses the softball team drops to 15-15 overall and 6-10 in the Florida Sun Conference. The Bobcats will have a chance to redeem themselves tomorrow when they take on Edward Waters at noon.
