Controversial loss for Bobcats

Miami Gardens, Fla - St. Thomas suffered a devastating loss to the Barry University Buccaneers 1-0. During the final seconds of the game the Bobcats managed to kick the ball into the net for what was thought to be the game tying goal only to have the referees disqualify the goal.

Elanna Brady scored the game winner for Barry after an assist by Emily Bourgoine. The 30 yard goal snuck past Maria Mora at the 66:07 mark of the game. Mora played 45 minutes substituting in for Lea Jones at the half. Mora had three saves and Jones had five.

The ladies combined eight save performance was needed as the Buccaneers (7-9) applied pressure throughout the game out shooting the Bobcats (8-7-1 FSC 2-2) 14 to six. Kelly Tryson made two saves in her 90 minute effort for the Buccaneers.

The Bobcats have senior day and their last regular season game Oct. 27 at Bobcat field at 2 PM. Seniors Tiffany Vega, Sandra Vargas, Carly Laskowski, and Melissa Guerra will be honored for their careers at St. Thomas.
