Bobcats start losing streak

Melbourne, Fla - The Bobcats played a close game but were unable to match Florida Tech's goal, resulting in their second straight loss. Alyssa Esposito scored the game winning unassisted goal during the 85th minute. The goal gave Florida Tech the 1-0 win.

St. Thomas (7-5-1) suffered the defeat despite out shooting their opponent 12 to eight. Keeping the Bobcats off the score board was goalkeeper Melissa Pyles, she had four saves. Her performance was almost mirrored by Bobcat goalkeeper Lea Jones. She had three saves and gave up the only goal of the game.

Sandra Vargas led the Bobcats in shot attempts with four while Esposito led Florida Tech (8-4-1) in shots with two leading six other players who attempted one.

The Bobcats play again October 19 at Eckerd College at 7 PM.
