Hollis Hunt (above) and Kishauna Henry ended scoreless streak.

Both teams miss opportunity to surpass Warriors

March 8, 2008

Miami Gardens, Fl - On the St. Thomas University tennis courts the Bobcat Men's (3-8, 2-3 in FSC) and Women's (1-10, 1-4 in FSC) tennis teams lost to the Webber International University Warriors, 2-8 and 1-8 respectively.

If the Men's team would have won their match, they could have solidified third place in the conference and a two game lead of the fourth place team. Instead the loss dropped them to fourth and has them a game behind the Warriors (4-4, 1-1 in FSC).

The loss was highlighted by wins in singles play for Jeremy Bache and Kenneth Evans. Bache has consistently scored points for the Bobcats throughout the season producing in both singles and doubles play. Though Evans has not produced as many points for the Bobcats as Bache during the season, against the Warriors he remained calm in the closets game of the day and was clutch in his 8-5 victory.

The loss continues a three game losing streak for the Women's team. One streak the team can be proud of ending is the two match scoreless streak they started after their first win of the season. Kishauna Henry and Hollis Hunt produced the point for the Bobcats in doubles play winning 8-2. The win was the most one sided victory by either team in doubles play.

The win for the Warriors (1-5, 1-1 in FSC) was their first of the season. The win puts the Warriors in a tie for third and the Bobcats in fourth place in the conference.

Both teams will look to add to the winning column again March 12, at home against Wesleyan starting at 2 pm.
