Bobcats lose a physical game

Oct. 13, 2007

Box Score

Miami Gardens, Fla - The Bobcats were unable to get their first Florida Sun Conference win in a very physical game against Webber International, losing 2-0. Nick Weightman and Jonas Risberg scored the two goals for the Warriors.

The whistles started early in the game when a Webber (5-7 FSC 3-4) player clothes lined a Bobcat in the stomach. 17 more fouls would be called on the Warriors by the end of the game and St. Thomas (2-10-1 FSC 0-6) would be whistled for 11. The Warriors also earned three yellow cards, while St. Thomas earned two yellow cards and a red card.

Nick Weightman scored the first goal of the on St. Thomas goalkeeper Diego Villegas with a left footed line drive.

St. Thomas's red card brought several Warriors players and coaches on to the field. Less than twenty seconds later Jonas Risberg would take advantage of the interruption in play to score his teams' second goal off of a deflection.

The Bobcats rarely possessed the ball on their offensive end of the field. The Warriors out shot them 10 to two and spent most of the second half in a methodical offense which consumed most of the game clock.

St. Thomas plays again October 16 at the University of Tampa at 4 PM.
