Woolcock Places Second at NAIA Track Regionals

April 21, 2006

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--Junior Alden Woolcock garnered all eight St. Thomas points in the men's 1500 meters at Friday's NAIA Region XIV Championships at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Woolcock improved on his regional qualifying time by 19 seconds to finish at 4:08.94, which was less than a second behind Amon Rotich of Embry-Riddle.

The St. Thomas men's team, which consisted of just Woolcock, placed fifth at Regionals.

Julianna Johnson, the lone women's runner for St. Thomas, did not qualify for the 400-meter final.

Florida Memorial was the women's track and field champions, while Warner Southern took the men's team title.
